LHEP-T2K Group meeting
(12.04.2012, 11:00)
General matters
- Tomoko is back at work, her task will be to finalize the paper on nuclear emulsions (muon flux measurements).
- Aki will be in Japan most of June, attending OPERA collaboration meeting (CM), Kyoto conference and T2K shifts.
- The new OPERA spokesperson (after Antonio resigned) is Nakamura (not the author of the PDG).
- Martti has been asked to attend a conference in Padova from June 6th-8th, and give a talk on Bern accelerator activity.
Shifts
- see [1]
LEM software status
- There is no current information about the status of the detector so far, but it is presumably taking data.
- The software for LEM has been installed, but no progress could be made regarding physics analysis. It would be nice to be able to produce MC events.
- The next LEM meeting has not been scheduled yet.
- Fatih must provide a result on muon reconstruction (with improved efficiency) as soon as possible.
- The quality of the software should be improved.
Takeover of ND280 experience
- Eike is back from holidays and has time to transfer his experience to Hieho and Martti.
- The goal will be to run the software "T2K style", not "Eike style". :)
- Hieho is playing with the software to see if he can identify Pi+, Pi- or K0 events. This is not yet a "work project", only a way to gain experience with the ND280 software.
- Martti must learn to use ROOT as fast as possible, starting with the official ROOT documentation and tutorials. The physics background is secondary for the moment.
Collaboration meeting
- The CM schedule for our group (travel dates etc.) can be found here: [2]
- For future CMs, attendants will be expected to give talks on their work.
Next group meetings are scheduled for May 3rd and May 17th, after the T2K CM.
- Martti, 12.04.2012
