General Informations

- brick 2 of the Pi/Mu separation

- Muons with -100 mrad angle


Status

- working directory: MICROSCOPE1/ONLINE/b000002/

- Not so perfect area scan... see pictures XY TXTY TXTY_zoom... it is an overlapp of the area. ok to go on, produce predictions and start scanning.

- Move everything to pc56...

- 31.07.08: start intercallibration of all plates

- Tune Mic2: 1/786 camera, light: 30800, threshold 950/900

- Scan intercalibration area for all the brick (problems on the numbering - see problems)

- Make predictions, use cut abs(s.eTY-0.03)<0.05&&abs(s.eTX-0.08)<0.05, number of predictions: 4346. Project to plate 2 because half of the prediction cannot be projected onto plate 1 (part was not scanned). Let's try like this...

- do intercalibration. peak of 150..300 with a background of about 1..5, problems on plate 25 (doublepeak)... on high plates sometimes a second small peak (factor 25..50).

- start scanback test with version 22 to see if intercalibration is ok and procedure works.

- start scanback from plate 2 with batch id 1..20

- stop at 2.5.11.100... do manual check and then continue... more manual check needed to understand... not all the muons are obvious

- !!! at the moment plate 38 should have been on the stage, there was no emulsion left inside the bank! I did count the emulsion and there are 38 pieces... I made a test with stopping points and it does not seems to be ok up to 36 (no obvious lost of tracks somewhere before). Action: I did put it the correct way accroding to the plate changer, but be carefull: there are not in the "correct" order (see problems). last plate is marked with 35, second last also with 35, software plate 36 corresponds to marked plate 34, 35 to 33... 2 to 0 and 1 to -1.

- start batch 21..44 before going to Grans Sasso

Problems

- check tracks from area scan before making predictions

- projection of prediction to 0 brings problems becasue a lot of tracks are not passing at 0 (one half of the brick) and therefore are missing there. Preject to 300 or 600 helps.

- Double print of marks in plate 25 mark1 mark3

- NUMBERING OF EMULSION IS WRONG: the set start at -1, 0, 1, 2... 34, 35, 35 (two times 35) - 38 plates in total: number on plate does therefore not correlate on number of softwar (shifted for two)

- double peak in the alignment of plate 25 (related to double mark print?)
