Prepare a table with the cross sections and expected number of events after selection cuts for 10 pb-1 W + 0,1,2 jets (note _jets_, not partons)

Same for background, and also Wbb, Wcc. Include k-factors to NLO.

Prepare plots of signal+background (for example W transverse mass) to get a feeling on how good the signal could be detected (again normalized to 10 pb-1).

Get the numbers/plots above for 7 TeV, or describe how you will be quickly able to get 7 TeV estimates.

Get an estimate for 900 GeV too.

Define the measurement to be done. Likely W+0/W+1 ? Alpha_s ?

Who else in ATLAS will be doing this measurement ?

What are the plans and timescales of the W+jets ATLAS group for a similar measurement ?

What can/has to be done with MC until January/February ?

You will have to use release 15. Do this asap and report issues.

Describe how data quality and luminosity are implemented in the analysis.

How will duplicated events be removed ?

Prepare technical howto on how alpha_s can be changed in the MC and how and when you can get such samples for testing the analysis

Prepare a detailed list of samples that you need, as much as possible add the file names, release, location of the files, etc...

Tell us how you are going to get a multi-jet/QCD sample (from data, who is going to provide it for you ?)

Which background samples are you getting from data, which ones from MC ?

Evaluate the CPU hours you will need (order of magnitude) and disk space

How is you analysis run ? grid ? All configs in some TopAnalysis.py ?

How will you make sure that certified code is used ?

What is the location of your analysis code in SVN (preferrably in ATLAS, Bern also OK)

What will be the backup trigger if the single electron 20 GeV is not usable ? What is the efficiency ?

Will all the data you need be in the e-gamma stream ? Do you need other streams ?

How will the trigger efficiency be applied to MC ? As a weight ?

Will the trigger efficiency plateau be evaluated as a function of eta ?

Describe possible systematics studies to be done on a comparison between Alpgen and Herwig MC. Or also Pythia, Sherpa, etc...

Make a list of expected systematic uncertainties and describe where will you will be taking them from. In particular for the ratio measurement.

Prepare a technical howto for changing the jet-energy-scale for systematics evaluation. Also evaluate to what level the JES has to be known as a function of jet energy (do not forget the low energies).

Describe in detail the jet reconstruction and object definition criteria you will use including jet quality. Also describe the jet corrections you will use (muons in jet ? what scale ? overlaps ? include track-jet information ? reconstruction pt threshold ? generator pt threshold in MC ? Etc... What jet branch are you using ?

Describe the Met reconstruction and corrections you will use. What is the expected Met resolution ? Met branch ?

e-jet overlap: evaluate on MC, how often the "electron" was actually a jet/quark/gluon (mistake in overlap removal)
