Release 16

Object definitions for release 16 are partially done; cuts stay the same. The benchmarking file can be found on /ngse3/atlas/mc10_7tev/d3pd/susy/mc10_7TeV.106484.SU4_herwigpp_susy.merge.NTUP_SUSY.e598_s933_s946_r1831_r2040_p428_tid277252_00.

The source files are now on the SVN. Read the docu before using it. Ask Tobias for questions about the SVN.

To do:

  • Stay up to date with the latest object definitions (work in progress; done by Basil)
  • Revision of the scale factor numbers
  • Revision of the jet numbers (there are indications that there are discrepancies for release 15)
  • Investigate different cuts
  • Distribution plots

See the spreadsheet for the latest numbers.

Release 15 (will not be updated anymore)

A first version of the cutflow for the multi-lepton channel is presented here. The benchmarking file (SU4.106484) can be found on /ngse3/atlas/mc09_7tev/d3pd/susy/group10.phys-susy.SUSYD3PD.mc09_7TeV.106484.SU4_herwigpp_susy.merge.AOD.e542_s765_s767_r1302_r1306.000614.V2/*.root.

The source files for the cutflow can be found on /terabig/schneider/root/susy_su4/multi-lepton_wiki/. Type "root process.C" to start the analysis. Note that I deleted some variables in "susy.h" for faster compiling. If you need them you can put them again in the header file. Write down the path to your files in the file "input.txt", separated by commas. This way the jobs should be able to run locally and on the grid (not yet tested for the grid!).

Change the values starting from line 35 in susy.C to the ones you need.

There is a team discussion on the Sharepoint of the multi-lepton channel. You can find many useful (and some confusing) information there. The Twiki outlines the object definitions and the cuts but it may be outdated here and there.

6 other members of the multi-lepton channel compare their numbers on the sharepoint spreadsheet, they do not all agree on the numbers! The differences are very small though. These are my numbers:

Cut# of events without scale factor     # of events with scale factor
-4995449954.0000
0 (GRL)4995449954.0000
1 (Trigger)1853818450.2422
2 (Jet cleaning)1847318385.5586
3 (Primary vertex)1846818380.6172
4 (Crack Electrons)1826918182.0977
5 (Cosmic Muons)1826918182.0977
6 (NLep>=1)1072010634.6387
7 (NLep>=2)15191499.3066
8 (NLep>=3)8482.3399
9 (MSFOS>20)7270.5689
10 (LepPt)6563.5969
11 (Z-Window)6361.6359
12 (JetPt)3938.0577
13 (EtMiss)3938.0577

The object definitions, analysis order and cuts should be in line with the ones common in the multi-lepton channel (but not necessarily with the ones suggested by the SUSY working group).

My numbers after the last cut (with and without scale factor) are the same as in the sharepoint but in between there are some differences. Check the numbers on the sharepoint spreadsheet for a detailed comparison.

To do:

  • Investigating the differences in the event numbers with the other members
  • Revision of the scale factor numbers
  • Revision of Missing ET
  • Running the cutflow over a T1 sample (including event weights)
  • Migration to release 16.

To be updated soon.
